Oii there!

Hey there everyone...

It's good to hear from Grace and Wenhao...I hope the rest of you guys aren't doing too bad either. Good luck with your exams also!

I'm doing fine...but like WH mentioned...I'm wayyy behind my work. Third year has been really crazy. I've got the same hours of class like last year but the workload is unbelievable. More and more assignments/activities keep on pouring in each week and I've got some paper or another due almost every week till after my Christmas hols. I haven't even had the time to go swimming , although I'd count shopping as a form of exercise..whee

On to better news, June + some friends came up for a visit last weekend! During the same weekend, the M'sian-Singaporean Games were also held (she played tennis). But who cares about the MSS Games..It was a fab weekend that consisted of clubbing+alco, good food, good bitching and shopping of course. June displayed very funny characteristics whilst drunk and also an incredibly bimbotic side enough to rival the Champion Bimbo, chiamsuchuen. All of us at Notts came to the conclusion that June..you really need to train up your liver in order to party the way we do @ Notts! Mid-partying u mampus gila dah, then got high at my house the next day..no shame!

I won't be back this Christmas and I suppose it's a good thing cos there's just too much work to complete but do expect me in Easter next year...but then, I don't know if you guys would still be around. June and I + a bunch of friends plan to go to Barcelona in Jan...hopefully it'll work out this time yeah!

Okay gotta go sleep now..I've had 13 hrs worth of sleep since last Fri, courtesy of last weekend's craziness.

life here..

hey all

i can't believe its been 5 weeks since i am here. i think i accidentally stepped into a time machine when i boarded the plane at klia. 5 weeks seemed like 5 days only, either that or i have some mental cognition problem.

so, if you guys are wondering how i'm doing, all i can say that i have never been better. to scare you even more, i am actually touring new york city, not kota kinabalu, on my own next week. i'll be leaving duke, north carolina on saturday, and then heading to nyc. shall be going up to boston to visit my friend at MIT, and then going to nyc for the next 4 days, where i will meet up with an american friend of mine. it is gonna be a great adventure, scary as it seems, i'm pretty excited. i've planned to jog at central park, eat bagles, go up the statue of liberty, and go watch US Open, (as in stand outside the gates and try to break in), * of course i have no money to buy tickets to watch federer play lah)

so my 5 weeks here, it started off really boring-ly. but now, it's awesome. in fact, i don't really want to leave at all. working is so much more relaxing than studying cuz it doesn use too much brain cells. also, there is more patient interaction, something which i really like. i figured that i could not possibly work in a lab when it only involved machine or computers, or simulators. gosh, i would go crazy.
i'll turn into a gilababi and go to tanjung rambutan. haha

shopping here has been wayyyy too good to be true ( note: auntie and woman would die to shop here) and auntie, i got a new sexy ipod nano. hahahaha. black is sexy, but white is pure and sexy.

i've got one of the best collegues one could ever ask for. everyone is so nice. at the lab, its usually me, the lab guy, one other guy who's workign here for a year, and the principal investigator, who happens to be a medical doctor who graduated from imperial college. boy, he is SO FUNNY that he always tells stories during lab times. he was telling us about how he used to throw hospital garbage at other medical school's rugby players. hospital garbage including urine and waste... sounds a lot like IMU eh? keke

anyway, got to go now. take care guys.

Trip down to JB & Spore

& Hey guys.. It has been a while since I last blog.... Looks like grace is having all the fun in down under... Nevertheless, we in malaysia also had our own way of fun.. lol
This trip come about when chuen suddenly mentioned she doesn't mind going down to jb when one of our friends, Christine asked us down. Since my hols are so freaking boring, so I was thinking, why not..Plus I never really been to JB (only did to cross over to Spore) & I still have a lot of Spore dollar from my last trip there which was 2 weeks ago, so I texted chuen and asked if she's interested and serious about it. & that was about 5 days before the day we went, which was last tues.
Being the "smart" me, I went to check on air asia, to see if there's cheap flight.... check check check, then found there's a 80bucks flight to & fro JB.... (haven't considered the tax yet, so didnt know the flight cost us 160bucks)
Skip all the details, so on tue, chuen, suet may and I flew to JB tues morning and met up with Christine... Initially we booked this hotel recommended by Christine called "Rasa Sayang" but when we passed by the hotel, it looks so er.... not so nice looking that we decided to go to this hotel called "Compact"... For 99bucks a night, we got a pretty nice room with a king size bed and an amazing view of the coastway.. that's a good bargain.. lol..
We spent the first day shopping in City Square and playing boggle.. trust me, chuen is super crazy about boggle.. don't find it fascinating.. its just creating and arranging words out of a bunch of cube letters.. but well, just entertain Suet May and chuen by losing all the time... Dinner was at Christine's house and we continue "chuen-boggle-madness" again, but this time, Christine's bro joined us, so it was fun... then we played this primary school game called "nama-negara" which I happened to be good in... So, you guys know who won.. lol
Chuen had a traumatic experience once we got back to the hotel.. Without knowing that the water heating system went crazy, chuen went to shower and wash her face.. & she got so stressed out when the burning water touches her skin.. we gotta wait til 12.30midnight for the water to went to normal again.. lol it was funny to see chuen in shower cap.. Suet may missed the fun coz she was too tired to take her shower...
The next day was mostly at Spore.. we went to Queensway where Suet May bought her sport shoes.. the shoes there are so original and cheap.. i mean, the nike, adidas, are all original of course.. and we went opposite to ikea for meatball lunch which is much more yummy than those in mutiara damansara.. After that, (oh yah I forgot to mention that debbie brought us over to spore) we decided to go to Orchard Rd to do more shopping and eat Gelato... It is so yummy that chuen actually can eat it twice in a day... the next stop is suntec city, cause we wanna see this fountain and have dinner there.. we ate at this restaurant called Surf & Turf and the food there is nicer than chilli.. for once, my food experience in Spore is an 'A'.... After dinner, we went to Clarke Quay, where the famous and posh and happening and stylish ppl like me and chuen and suet may hang out..
The journey back was amazing as we reached the train station about 10 mins past midnight and were waiting for this 170 bus to take us back to JB... Once the bus took us to the spore custom, all the "kiasufied" Msians rushed out and ran into the custom building and to get their passport checked.. I was like, "chuen, suet may, faster faster faster!!!" and they were walking slightly faster but not fast enough, and so we were one of the last ones to leave the building. As soon as we go out to look for our bus, it left us all there and we gotta wait for the next one.. This lousy bus has no corutesy to wait for his passengers... The next bus came.. thru the JB custom.. and the walking-to-the-hotel began.. chuen and suet may were so terrified.. can tell from their faces.. coz JB apparently has the worst crime rate.. so chuen began taking out her money and ic and put it her pocket and I hold onto her passport.. suet may hugging her bag.... and for once, they walked super fast!!! :-)
The next day, nothing much happened.. just makan with christine and chris and they brought us to the airport and bye bye JB and Spore.. the next round, we will definitely stay in Spore.. its safer i guess!!!!

Rambling from down under...

Halo halo!

Woa...June...respect!! Backpacking alone in Borneo! Would be a real good experience though. Hehe...don't think I'll have enough courage to do that.

Anyways..here I am procrastinating to study for my test nex week, and trying to make sense of my lecture notes, something bout income flows and GDP...oh wells, that can wait a while. Hehe.. Okies..so let me see...where did I stop last time? Oh ya... my winter hols.

Yep, I went with 85 other people up to the desert in Central Australia. It was a adventure/camping trip organised by the university. Had a really great time up there - pretty walks and sightseeing, and freezing my arse off at night in the tent. It was like -2 deg in d mornings and tryin to get out of my sleeping bag was so so hard. Oh and I climbed Uluru/Ayers Rock...that big rock in the middle of the Australian desert. It was really really steep... 75 deg slope at some parts.. crazy! But reaching the top...that made everything totally totally worth it.

Came back from Central Aus...and the next week I was off skiing!! Was my first time... didn't fall too much. It was heaps of fun just to be out in the snow. Only managed to get 2 days worth of skiing though...but I was doing the intermediate runs on the 2nd day. Wished I had more time there but my friend had to come back to Melb early. Skiin is a real cool sport... but it's so darn ex! 1 day ski rental and lift cost me like AUD110! Stayed with a friend so transport and accomodation was free... but all in all, I was broke by the end of the winter hols! Planned not to go on trips for a while...

The semester started...and here I am back into full swing again. 4th week of classes now.. and I'm playing hockey, Aussie rules football, netball and soccer for college. Heaps of sports trainings every week. And of course... more mountaineering trips! Hehe...oh wells, plans to slow down on trips never happened...

Since d sem started...been on 2 long weekend hikes. First, we had this trip called the Midnite Ascent. It's our mountaineering club's annual ball. Basically, 25 of us hiked up the steepest mountain in Victoria at midnite on Friday. Took me about 5 hours...with a 20kgs backpack! Kinda like climbin to the summit of Kinabalu.. steeper in fact. Got up to the hut at about 6am and waited for about an hour for sunrise. Then slept in till about 11am. The hut was built by the club members about 20 yrs ago...yeah...they carried all d stuff up the mountain... and it's really really cool inside..no beds though...but here I'm talking...normal uni students like us...and they actually managed to build a hut! Respect! Anyways, Saturday..got up, had some lunch and hiked up to the summit. Took about 2 hours trudging in snow.... d weather was perfect...hot sun and snow everywhere. It was so so pretty. We came back down at bout 4 pm..was attacked by snowballs when I reached the hut... and then got changed for the ball. Yeps...we carried our formal clothes up the mountain. Theme was Romans vs Barbarians, so I dressed up in a toga. After everyone got changed, we all went outside into the snow and took a gp photo. 1 hour of freezing ourselves out latter, we went back into the hut to cook our dinner.

Basically we got into pairs and some cooked entree, some main and some dessert. The catch was, we could only use fresh stuff to cook up our meals! One guy even brought up a pasta maker and made fresh pasta from flour!! Hehe....it was good fun though trying to cook a good meal on a camping stove. I came up with butter chicken curry and since we didn't have roti canai, I buttered some lebanese bread and pan-fried them. They really like it...hehe...I can cook! =p And of course, everyone brought up alcohol - wine, beer & spirits...yeps..we carried then all d way up the mountain! hehe...crazy eh? Anyways to cut thing short, we had a great time tat night, and descended the mountain in the afternoon the next day. Everyone was walking funny the next week...gosh...my muscles were so sore...but I still managed to go for all the sports trainings and even played a hockey competition!

And the next weekend, which was the one that just past, I went cross-country skiin! This time my bag was like 25kgs cause had to carry the skis and a tent up. Lucky the hike wasn't as steep...but still was pretty darn long. Started climbin at midnite again...and when we reached the first campsite, we didn't even bother setting up tents. Jus crawled into my sleeping bag on a ground sheet and fell right asleep. Next day, we continued hiking up to the campsite...it was all covered in snow!! Dumped our bags, had some lunch, and then hiked to the summit and skied! Sunset was really awesome at the summit! It was getting dark so we left our skis under a tree and hiked back down to the campsite. Cooked up dinner and by 9.30 pm we were all fast asleep! Next day, we hiked up again, took about 1.5 hours...and skied the rest of the morning! It was really cool cause there were liek 4 summits and no one else there cept the 5 of us. The onli difference compared to the resorts was taht we had to ski up the slopes before we could ski down! It was still heaps of fun! Had really really massive blisters though cause I hiked up the mountain with plastic ski boots! They were so painful...but the fun jus made up for everything.

Wasn't plannin to go away this weekend....but a day trip just came up...and I signed up for it! Hehe...going outdoor rock climbing this Sunday! =p Just for a day though cause I've got so much studying to catch up on. Been practising kayaking at the pool as well, and working a lot on my eskimo rolls....jus hoping there'll be more rain here. The rivers have been pretty dry so not many outdoor kayaking trips...hopefully they'll start running again soon.

Anyways, I'd better stop rambling and get back to work now. Okies, hope to hear what you guys are up to now! Take care!!

Random thoughts..

How should I start blogging about my unemployed state ? I think it's probably gonna end up being a bitch-fest on my part at least. You guys have no idea how -not one..but TWO prominent private hospitals screwed me up . But at the same time, I don't really dare complain ..YET. What if some psycho pharmacy person comes across this blog? or worse still..i get mistaken as a bimbo a la chiamsuchuen (it'll be inevitable since it'll be full-on bitching) ? die-lah.. My pharmacy career in Malaysia will be totally ruined. Wenhao, don't worry okay..I'm still in the i-have-no-shame-being-unemployed state.

Being unemployed has been pretty cool actually. I thought I would have gone mad by now..being in a perpetual state of idleness..but I'm actually enjoying myself. I've been catching up on some much needed sleep (I used to sleep for 5/6 hours or less in UK) and then have lovely afternoon siestas (ie. afternoon naps!). Utter bliss..

Since I more or less self-diagnosed myself as an ADHD sufferer (it stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder..just like Lynette's kids in D. Housewives) I actually haven't been reading much. I'm still stuck on The Historian since 3 weeks ago.. and June's Murakami is calling out to me <--no I'm not dillusional. So far, I've only read The Devil Wears Prada courtesy of chiamsuchuen.. that's because Nana & June are waiting to read the book .. and also because I want to watch the movie. Speaking about the movie, it won't be out till September!! How dissapointing! Somehow I have a feeling that the movie will turn out better than the book though. I can't wait to see all the *pretty* clothes & bitch fights!

Shopping has actually been pretty dissapointing.
So far, I've managed to spot 3 tops and a pair of pants (which I've bought in the UK) .. here. These items are now on sale & to make it worse, the original prices were also cheaper. I'm more or less on a shopping-fast but it's not like I've totally stopped shopping (haha). I've still managed to get a couple of nice things... What I'm really frustrated about are the summer sales! Agh..I'm so tempted to shop online.. (I dread to see my bank balance)!

Oooh...I've also been reading lots of random blogs and ahem..your blogs too (i'm referring to: SC,WH,CH)! I've never really read blogs..till this holidays and I'm more or less addicted to it ( for now anyway). The only blog that I used to read (constantly) was Kenny Sia's (kennysia.com) and if you have yet to read his blog...go read it!! It's hilarious! Here are some of the blogs that I've been reading:
1. iamfashion.blogspot.com - It's like a female version of Gizmodo (gizmodo.com)
2. chubbyhubby.net - It has the most amazing pictures/ reviews about FOOD! yummm
3. blackjetta.blogspot.com - Funky graphics/pictures..but bitchy (ie hilarious)
I draw the line on extremely bimbotic blogs (yes chuen...there are posts more bimbotic than yours) like Singapore's Xiaxue (just Google her if you're that desperate to read her posts).

And how can I not mention YouTube? It saw me through extreme exam stress and also right now! Japanese video clips are the most hilarious ones..where they perform cool pranks/tricks to elicit sheer public embarassment! Has anyone seen the Silent Library clip? It's soo funny!!

To end..I've decided to start a new game..You guys have to do it. Why? Because i want to.

5 Things You Probably Didn't Know about Me
1. I'm a Zouk reject.. just because I'm not 21 yet (I'm happy being 20 & YOUNG..haah)
2. I've been cooking..under my mommy's supervision!
3. No, I have not poisoned/killed anyone with my cooking yet
4. I <3 Wikipedia .. I used it for my lab reports & revision + erm...random kay poh-ing
5. I miss Pimp My Ride...I miss all the bling , cool paint jobs , Xzibit saying 'You've been pimped!'
6. The 3rd one prob isn't counted.. so : I was so bored that I answered a random question on my profile page

p/s : <3 is a symbol for a heart and NOT an ice cream!

Anway, hope to see you all later & Grace.. have fun in Uni!

Muacks!

Backpacking in Borneo

ah! auntie! since i am your hero, the next trip you must come with me!

i'm sure all of you think i am crazy to be wandering alone in suchuen's weird island. to be honest, you guys aren't the only ones. so many ppl i met along the way gave me the stange look ' are you ok?' or the kesian look ' aiyoh this girl got no friends'. i don't know which i'd prefer, but travelling alone can be both boring yet liberating.

to summarise my trip before i start rambling:
I MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO THE SUMMIT!!! JUST IN TIME FOR SUNRISE. i nearly boiled with frusration when it was raining the night before ascending to the peak. it was 2004 mt kinabalu replay all over again. ridiculous i tell you. i was sitting in bed, unable to sleep, praying, and debating if i will ever come back to this mountain if i did not manage to go to the summit.
to my immense relief it stopped raining at 2am, only to start again at 2.30, just as we were leaving. the guide said ' kalau hujan lagi lebat, kita kena PATAH BALIK' those horrible words. its bad enough not reaching, worst if you have to PATAH BALIK.
anyway, thank God, it did not get heavier, and after hiking in the pitch dark for 3 hrs we finally conquered the mountain.
descending was another challenge in itself, and i must say, a very fearful one. worst that climbing up.

my diving plans we foiled due to a combination of rain and my laziness. i wish it did not rain! darn.

hence i ended up wandering in kk: taking a bus to tanjung aru and sutera harbour and lying on their private beach. wandering through town looking for a backpackers lodge. taking a speedboat to manukan island, lying on the beach and reading a book. eating tausapau and seafood noodles at a kopitiam alone. haha. talking to crazy angmoh backpackers who were travelling for 7 months, and spending 3 -4 weeks of that in SABAH. siao. i met many nice people, one 'dodgy' boatman who wanted to bring me snorkelling at mamutik island and took my handphone number. (i don't know why i gave it to him). talking to the hostel owner until the middle of the night. sharing a dorm with 7 other crazy smelly travellers, one of them a 60 year old canadian woman travelling alone. one nice old sabah guy who brought me to this coffee shop with superb tau sa pau.talking to bus drivers and other travellers and some dusun/kadazan locals.

okay, kk was fun, at the end of 5 days there i was freaking broke.

then i boarded the plane to visit our tribesman in kuching. our iban headhunter friend decided to crawl out of the long house and drive a car instead of rowing a sampan. hence, i spent 2 nights in kuching, partying gila. tribesman played at a gig he organized and the after gig party was lagi syok. old skool music clubbing. and no need to worry about transport. (unlikeKL) on the contrast, i had to wake up at 730am to go to church. after partying til 330am.
oh, if any of you go to sarawak, you must eat the laksa. ahhh...the laksa is a cross between penang laksa and curry laksa. awesome man. i had WAY too many bowls of laksa.
tribesman's family are, such nice ppl you wouldn't think there are related. as his father is a headhunter, there were skulls hanging outside the door of the house, and crates of 'tuak' in the storeroom under the longhouse. mind you the house is really very long. and every room has a different occupant. also a lot of spears and solimpopon around. babi hutan is the signature dish in the house. the language is very different, not malay, not english, but some native language that originated from china.----hokkien. hah!
(P/S: the skulls are but a part of my imagination)

so there, after 8 days, im back back back in civilised KL where the trafic jams rule the roads instead of trees and monkeys, mountains and ibans.

nana:if you want to watch tribesman sing with his solimpopon, head down to berjaya times sq on the 5/8 or to labodega KL on the 6/8.

Tay Li June is my hero

When I grow up, I wanna be just like her. If you don't call hanging out in an unknown place alone for 3 days heroic, then you don't deserve to be reading this post on how my hero Tay Li June lived the life of a solitude backpacker somewhere along the coast of Mikilikonjaro Island (loosely translated as Kota Kinabalu. yes la lame la. KK just sounds too normal and developed. Which would make people think less of my hero Tay Li June. So you see, I had to change its name.).

I get the feeling TLJ is partying in Kuching even as I type this, with tribesmen whom she befriended during her recent foray into one of the many lush, green Sarawakian forests, no less. Not content with swimming with the sharks and starfishes in our very own Pulau Perhentian just last week, she just had to broaden her horizons by climbing Sabah's Mount Kinabalu, descending with a newfound passion to mingle with others who shared the same passion as herself - hanging out in unknown places alone.

I have decided to stop expecting the date of TLJ's return to her homeland, KL as I know it will only be met with an sms saying that she has found a new species of dodo bird (which are supposed to be extinct. That's my hero TLJ for you.) that she absolutely must conduct a thorough research on, the pursuit of which will cause her to be incommunicado with the rest of the civilised world for as long as it takes for her to discover the prehistoric origins of said dodo bird. Or something along those lines.

To my hero TLJ, I only have this to say to you:

Please come home soon because I want to go to Singapore.

ps. if nobody posts anything within the next one week I will continue to produce posts of this calibre regularly until someone does so don't say I didn't warn you.

My semester's worth.. =D

Hey hey!!

How's everyone going?? Been a really really really busy semester for me this year. Been going on heaps of camping trips, still the sports rep in college and tonnes of assignments too... phew...

Just finished with exams a couple of days ago. The exam period went on for almost 4 weeks... 4 long and stressful weeks....oh well, it's all over now.. Yippee!! Going on a 11 day camping trip to Central Australia with the university this Wednesday. Gonna see Uluru..that massive rock in the middle of the Australian dessert...wil be going with about 16 friends...and there's 90 ppl on the trip.. so should be pretty awesome.

After the trip, wil be going to stay over at a friend's place for a week. Gonna go skiing then... hehe...can't wait for that one...haven't skied before...so wil probably fall heaps.. hehe... After that, will stay with my aunt for a week....and she was planning to take me to the seaside to see the whales over the weekend. A really really packed holiday up front for me. =D

Okies..so now here's my semester in a nutshell... Started of the semester being an Orientattion Leader. Those 2 weeks preparing and bringing the fresher's around was really tiring was it was a good experience and heaps of fun too. June's bro's a fresher in my college... we played tennis for college at the start of the year... but haven't touched my racquet since then...whoops. Moved into a new room this year as well. It's a new apartment...4 of us in an apartment...we each have our own rooms, and we have a living area with a tv and a fully equiped kitchen as well. So it's a really good deal being a 2nd year student. My housemates are really close friends so that's good. One of them was really messy and dirty though.. good thing he's left for the UK to do his 1 yr of Medical research...phew...oh well...that's why they day..never judge a person by their cover.. =p
This time I made sure I chose a good housemate to replace him though...and it's much better now.. hehe...that's the experience of living out with friends..

I'm still runnnig as the sports rep this year as well...played heaps of sports this sem too.. squash, softball, tennis, rowing (those 5am starts again.. =p) and a couple more...I can't remember now. Did heaps of outdoor trips this semester as well. More rock-climbing and kayaking this year. Went 'multi-pitching'..it's where you climb this really high rock wall...about 70-100m...a leader will lead first..and once he reaches a safe spot..he ties in ...and you start climbing. Was really freaked out the first time though...cos it feels like there's no rope pulling you... but it's not too bad really. Just takes some getting use to. Climbed real rocks...so there was the wind factor and not forgetting the sun- burns as well...=p. Been doing a lot of kayaking as well. Not many trips yet cos there hasn't been much rain here down under...hopefully the rivers will be highere nex sem. I can do the eskimo roll already...it's like when you flip upside down in d kayak and flip back over again.. =)

Over Easter, I went to Mornington Peninsula..it's this place in Victoria near Philip Island. Yep.. finally went to Philip Island.. hehe...the penguins were so cute... Went strawberry picking and wine tasting there to. My friend drove and I navigated the way. We also went swimming with the dolphins and horseback riding too!! The water was freezing...honestly...I would rather pay the money to swim with dolphins in Sea World! It's a cool experience but the dolphins are wild so they dun really come near you. But it was still good fun though.

Been shopping a lot this sem too. Hehe..the sales are really tempting here.. And then, Nana came to Melb as well. Took her to see my college play the Volleyball finals..and then we went to have Hot Chocolate. Was good yeah Nana? Hehe...come over to Melb and I'll bring you guys there. Hmm...wat else....oh ya...Commonwealth was on here. Didn't go watch any games cos was busy with outdoor trips over the weekends and had loads of assignments then as well. oh ya... my college had the usual performance nights as well... performed in a couple of acts this year. Played Hotel California on guitar and danced Saturday Night Feva.

World Cup Season is here now. Just went with a couple of friends to watch the Aus-Italy match out on the streets. It's freezing cold out there. At half time we ended up going to my friend's place to continue watching the match. Ended with a dodgy penalty...the Socceroos are out now.. oh well..I'm on Brazil neways...hehe...

Well I guess that's it for now...it's already 4.30 am here...i really should be going to bed soon. Ok, have a good break Caroline and June and the rest in IMU...is it hols yet?/ Neways hope to hear from you guys soon. Take care! Hugz...

Hey guys!!

Ugh..I've finally decided to put a post up cos I've got stuff to write and the space provided by the chatterbox is so little.

Anyway,

June: Yeah.. I could bring back kaya and sambal for you. Don't listen to all these other smug ppl who don't understand what joy it is to see kaya..and my turn to be smug now.. I had kuih & CURRY PUFF today!!!!!!! But I'm gonna be a nerd and bring textbooks home to study (I've got a dissertation!!! argh)..n Rang, Dale, Ritter's Pharmacology isn't very light either (amongst other books that I'm thinking of bringing back)..so yeah if I'm capable then I could try and bring it back for you...Come up to Notts n get it!!! I haven't seen u in ages!

Heh..surprise, surprise...auntie likes to go clubbing? club kat mana ? Bring me out when I'm back lah. I'm free anytime..u can bring me out before/after prom..I'm gonna be bored to death anyway and it feels so odd to go back home during this Easter break. You can't imagine how many odd stares I've been getting when I tell friends that I'm going back home..luckily I've got a valid reason..if not I'll be mistaken as a spoilt brat. Anyway, I'm veering off topic..uhmm..alcohol? What sort? I could bring alcohol if you guys really want it..

So the food/ junk request so far :
1. Kit kat dark choc
2. Some tesco thingy (June...any idea??)

Anything else that u guys fancy..besides chocs? U guys have 7 more days to think about it...
till then..looking forward to seeing u all soon!

Muacksss

excellent sea view....from one of the castles.

check out the lamps. look a bit like malacca right?

does it look like malacca?

portugal!!!

5.porto (north of portugal) a town full of character and charm, but unfortunately we were there for only less than a day. we went to the wine cellars for port tasting. cuz porto is famous for its port.

4. another picture of porto. the riverside is the best place to sit and write a book or just to get inspiration or to marvel at the beauty of a place.

3. this is not sanfrancisco! haha. lisbon has a bridge that looks like the golden gate bridge. the weather is glorious! sunshine and 18 degrees is the perfect weather.

2. a day by the beach. that was fantastic sky and sunshine. along with a good cuppa coffee.

1. the biggest and (oldest?) catholic church in belem, lisbon.

Confirm cannot become taxi driver la

If there's 2 things I learnt today, it is that

1. I am so not a morning person.
2. I cannot deny it any longer. Reality has reared its ugly head and I have to accept that I have inherited my dad's super-not-good sense of direction.

*Stop sniggering Wen Hao!!* Ok la I admit I knew both facts already. I guess I was just kinda hoping that with the new year both would, oh i don't know, just disappear and I would magically be bestowed with the ability to navigate the roads of KL even though the road signs are so misleading I almost drove to Johor through Balakong today.

I have become a full fledged couch potato and I blame Desperate Housewives. I spent the WHOLE DAY WATCHING DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES OK.THE WHOLE DAY. I HAVEN'T EVEN TAKEN MY SHOWER YET. Ok maybe I shouldn't have added that last part. The defining moment for me was when I decided not to go shopping with my best friend just to watch it. It was then that reality struck me in the nose. I have become a Desperate Housewives addict.

Wish I could spew more crap but alas, I need my Desperate Housewives fix now. My eyes are starting to twitch and my muscles are starting to go into spasms. So till next time, toodles!

Resolutions??? Hmmm....

Hey Peeps!!

All d best to all d IMUians for your exams... a little late... =p....sorry....there's still 2 days more rite?? Yess....just 2 days more to your freedom!! hehehe.... Good luck to June and Caroline too...exams should be pretty near yeah?/ Dun get too stressed..

Yes yes...I want photos!! gracephang@gmail.com Forgetful me...always forgetting to bring my camera...i think my brain's starting to deteriorate already...bumming day in day out....hehe... should look for a job....haha...been saying that ever since A-levels ended...hmm....Well, gonna be working my arse off d next part of my life so I reckon another 2 more years of bummin would do me good... =D

Resolutions....hmm....never really crossed my mind. Never made any resolutions before...probably back in primary school when we had to write an esaay about it. Probably should start this year... First up on my list... Play harder and get better grades? Okay maybe that's not really possible... hmm... find a job? I'll just wait till my intership at the end of the year... Haih....I think with my indecisiveness (did I spell that right??) it'll take forever for me to come down with a list... haha.... Well, I guess it'll be best to just enjoy life for a while before uni starts.

Neway...I guess that's enough of my crapping for a while now...time for Desperate Housewives which I started 6 months ago and I'm only half way through of Season 1!! Haha....

P/s Bangkok trip 2006 is just round the corner!! Yippee!!

NY resolutions that are hard to keep

i was just reading my new year resolutions i wrote in 2000. reflecting back, life was so simple back then. my new year resolutions were like:
1. no smoking no drugs no getting drunk on alcohol ( which i still adhere to)
2. never go beyond 52kg ( haha, yeah rite..i overshot that benchmark by a huge margin)
3. stop talking in class while teacher is teaching( i once got told off for jaw exercising, in front of the whole class, but still carried on)
4. exercise more( not jaws, but the thighs and tummy)

oh well, that was life 5 years ago.

now>

1. survive med school and restrain myself from hating the microbiology and pharm books with a passion.i actually felt like throwing them off the plane and see them vanish into the clouds.
2. discipline to: do quiet time, to do revision at least during weekends ( doubt this will happen though),
3. stop snacking ie: stop falling into the evil trap of the chocolates and cookies that adorn the shelves of tesco.
4. cook more often instead of eating leftovers.
5. stop being hypocritical, as wh says, i feel like a hypocrite a lot of the time, telling ppl one thing, and not practicing it myself. IE: i share the same sentiments as wh, the trusting God issue. its a constant uphill struggle, to REALLY put every thing into His hands. sometimes i think i am a control freak, still trying to control some part of my life, and doubting that He will carry me through it all. Honestly, i find it very difficult to leave everything to Him and trust that it will turn out the good way, and i don't know where to draw the line between dependency and laziness. perhaps its the kiasuness still simmering away....not in terms of studies, but in terms of the course of my life.
6. i need to stop swearing under my breath, even if its inaudible.
7. practice my french and spanish at least 3 times a wk, otherwise i am gonna fail my module.
8. EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE!!! i'm turning into a huge jacket potato that is growing by the seconds. sideways, not upwards.
9. i need to be bolder for God. really. sometimes i feel afraid to tell ppl about Jesus. its something i want to overcome.....and i need the courage.
10. climb kinabalu!!! and go diving!!!!

er, im just putting down 10, i wonder if i can even acheive half of it. prob the most unlikely one will be the exercise one. u guys will be the judge lah.

okieedokiee.e....a toast to 2006! may it be a memorable year for all of us. memorable in a nice way, not with horrible memories!

In A Nutshell - My Resolutions

Happy New Year!!! Looks like WenHao is the only obediant one... Sigh... Where are the rest? I've blogged about my resolutions in my blog... Here's the link!

http://jay133.blogspot.com/2006/01/in-nutshell.html

Enjoy!

kicking off with thoughts!

hey ppl.. really enjoyed the session in midvalley.. the whole idea of just sitting together, eating and talking "smart" conversations & catching ups are just awesome.. it really did put away my neurotic mind (due to exam stress overload) away for a moment..

but anyhow, this is not what is this blog all about.. gonna start the first blog of 2006 with my thoughts.. thoughts that start flowing into my already saturated mind as i was driving home, trying to see if i could make it for the fireworks (i couldnt make it coz i end up in my dad's friend's house talking to the aunties about medicine)....

recently, as you guys know, i've been busy preparing for my exams.. trying to squeeze all the medical facts with every possible way into my mind, in hoping that i would be able to recall and remember what i've read... but unfortunately, i failed to do so.. really, although i keep telling myself that "rely on His strength.. trust in Him..." but somehow, i failed to up-live those promises.. i felt ashamed as i myself keep telling my friends that, assuring them of God's unfailing grace, & how He turn the IMPOSSIBLE to POSSIBLE... somehow i felt like a hypocrite... & the drop of sinful desire running in my blood just make me worse.. felt that i nullify the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross..

as things seem to be out of control, i began to cry out to God... everytime this matter crosses my mind.. seeking for His forgiveness.. asking Him to renew my living well with His water of life, to quench my thrist & refresh my strength daily.. i seek for His help, asking Him to help me to stay in His presence always, helping me to trust in Him wholeheartedly.. i began to pray that every Word that i meditate will adhere in me... i asked Him to equip me with His armor that i knew, but failed to put on.. soon, i began to feel the peace that has long gone.. buried my the abundant stress... thank you God!

today, in church as one of the leaders said, "to leave behind sins, actions, whatever that are in us in 2005, & not bring forward into this year".. immediately, i felt that God is saying this to me... and i commit it quickly unto Him... really looking forward for this year, even with the exam load, i am asking God to increase my effectiveness & fruitfulness, to increase my sensitivity towards the oppportunities that He has laid before me... i just wanna expand & live life for Him, for it is through Him, i first have life.. He is asking, "I've place it at your front door... Do you wanna claim it?"... "God, i really want to... help me claim it!!!!!" this is my answer.

well, this is my new year's resolution.. to resolve to continue to do more God's work.. for it has the best fulfilment in life once His work is done... it is "the one" satisfaction that you will nvr encounter whenever you do other stuff... Lord, in you i will follow, & in you i will gain peace..

ok now.. wanna go watch my O.C. now.. & house.. lol.. see you guys.. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
